Applied Illustration - Visiting Lecturer Project

We were tasked with extracting words from the text relevant to set themes such as character, object, emotion and environment. We then had to pair words together in order to make unusual connections that could be explored visually.

The text talks about gardens and trees and brambles and a blue shadow and seven horses so I combined all of these ideas and came up with these visuals.

I then had a go at editing this photo which I thought represented trespassing due to the bars.

Again, this works really well with the blue shadow and could make a wrap-around book cover.
